Purpose
This lesson and the required resources covered mental disorders, psychopathy, and criminal behavior. You were introduced to the relationship between crime and mental illness and adjudicative competence. The purpose of this assignment is to apply what you have learned about the relationship between mental illness, psychopathy, and criminal behavior. To do this, you will prepare a newsletter that addresses specific criteria.
Instructions
Imagine that you have been asked by local law enforcement and judiciary agencies to write a newsletter article on the most recent research on psychopathy. In the newsletter, be sure to address the following issues:
The most current definition of psychopathy
The relation between psychopathy and criminal behavior (does every psychopath commit crimes/ is every criminal a psychopath?)
Tools used to measure psychopathy
Psychopathy traits as described in the Triarchic Psychopathy Model (TriPM)
Efficacy of treatment methods for psychopathy
The article should be written in an appropriate tone and format for a newsletter. Feel free to use images, bullet points and special fonts to engage the reader. The article should include 5-7 pages of text and be supported by at least three recent scholarly resources.
Length: 5-7 pages, not including title or reference pages.
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly references.
The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course. The writing should integrate scholarly resources, reflect academic expectations and current APA standards, and adhere to the Northcentral Universitys Academic Integrity Policy.
